Quality Counts North State uses a systemic approach to assess, improve, and communicate the level of quality in early care and education programs. Similar to rating systems for restaurants and hotels, participating sites earn ratings that show they meet a set of defined program standards.
Quality Counts North State can provide parents valuable information to help them make decisions about their child’s care and education. By participating in Quality Counts North State, early care and education providers embark on a path of continuous quality improvement. Quality Counts North State participants are going above and beyond to achieve a level of quality that exceeds the minimum requirements to operate.
Six counties in the California North State region (Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Shasta, Tehama, and Trinity) have come together to build Quality Counts North State. Providers are supported during their individual quality improvement journeys through mentoring, education, training, materials, and technical assistance. We are one of the 46 consortia in California who are a part of Quality Counts CA.
Tehama County providers or families who want to learn more should contact Jane Lonseberry.
Providers should look to the North State calendar for training opportunities.
