Your Child’s School Readiness Begins @ Birth! WHY?  90% of your child’s brain is developed by the age of five and your words are a very influential part of that development.  Even before your child can talk, your words help their brain grow.  Talk, read, sing, and play with your child everyday to help them build smart skills, feel secure and happy, and grow to enjoy a bright future. TEACH NEW WORDS ANYTIME:  Talk to your child about what you see around you and what you are doing.  The more you speak, the more you build your child’s vocabulary. READ OR TELL STORIES:  Every day, starting at birth, read a book, simply talk about the pictures, or make up stories based on what you see.  When you read together, you help your child learn to love books! SING SONGS AND NURSERY RHYMES OVER AND OVER AGAIN:  Add songs and rhymes into all of your routines, such as “Rock-a-Bye Baby” at bedtime, or make up your own for a personal touch. PLAY TO INTRODUCE LANGUAGE:  Offer your child books, musical instruments and other toys.  When you interact with your child in a playful way, you introduce new words, sounds, and concepts. YOU ARE YOUR CHILD’S FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANT TEACHER:  Give your child the best possible start in life - begin their school readiness training at birth.  Use these simple tips to help create your child’s learning foundation.  Give them quality early learning experiences that will impact them through adulthood!
